200 Million Dollar Sugar Investment from Safi Çorum Şeker to Kazakhstan
We continue to add value to the future of agriculture. As Safi Çorum Şeker, we are launching our 200 million dollar investment plan to establish a sugar refinery with a capacity of 140 thousand tons per year and advanced technology in Kazakhstan.
Our investment decision was finalized in a meeting between the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Mr. Aidarbek Saparov, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Safi Çorum Şeker, Atakan Sinan Safi. Approximately 1 million tons of sugar beet will be processed each season in our new facility.
This project will offer a permanent solution to the sugar supply crisis that Kazakhstan has been experiencing in recent years, and will also activate the agricultural potential in the region. We are moving forward with our goal of contributing to agriculture, producers, and economies of countries.
New Facility Will Produce 140 Thousand Tons of Sugar Annually
Within the scope of the project, a facility with a sugar production capacity of 140 thousand tons per year is planned to be established. To reach this capacity, approximately 1 million tons of sugar beet will need to be processed each season.
Regarding the location of the facility, the adequacy of cultivated areas and the suitability of the infrastructure stood out as decisive criteria. The Ministry of Agriculture announced that they will provide comprehensive support for the investment in line with the current legal framework.
Atakan Sinan Safi stated that Kazakhstan has high agricultural potential and offers an attractive investment environment for sugar production.
